Home / Soft washing

Low pressure. High impact. Nothing damaged.

The gentler, science-backed method behind every SplashKingz clean — and the reason the streaks don't come straight back.

Soft washing uses low water pressure combined with specialised, eco-friendly cleaning solutions to safely remove algae, mould, mildew and grime from a home's exterior. Unlike traditional pressure washing, soft washing won't strip paint, crack stucco or force water behind siding.

The solution is applied from the ground up, allowed to dwell and break down organic growth at the root, then rinsed away — leaving surfaces clean without the risk of damage that comes with high-pressure blasting.

Soft washing

  • Low pressure, chemical-assisted
  • Kills growth at the root
  • Safe for roofs, siding & screens
  • Results last far longer

Pressure washing

  • High-pressure water only
  • Strips surface-level dirt
  • Best for hard, durable surfaces
  • Ideal for driveways & concrete

The right method for each surface.

We never use one blast for everything. That's what keeps your home safe while still getting it genuinely clean.

Soft wash zones

Low pressure

Roofs, stucco and siding, soffits and fascia, screens and windows.

Pressure wash zones

Controlled pressure

Driveways, pool decks, patios and sidewalks.

Why it lasts: we treat the root, not the surface.

The stains you see are colonies of algae, mould and mildew feeding on organic material in your roof or siding. Pressure alone can blast away what's visible, but the roots survive beneath the surface — which is why stains return so quickly after a pressure-only clean.

Our soft wash solution is formulated to penetrate and kill that growth at the source, so your home stays visibly cleaner for years, not months. If you'd rather never think about it again, the Crown Club keeps it on a four-visit cycle.

Questions

Soft washing, answered

How is soft washing different from pressure washing?
Pressure washing removes what it can knock loose with force. Soft washing uses low pressure — about what a garden hose delivers — and a cleaning solution that kills algae, mould and mildew at the root. On roofs, siding, stucco and screens, force is the thing that causes damage, so the chemistry does the work instead.
How long do the results last?
Considerably longer than pressure washing, because the organism is killed rather than displaced. A properly soft-washed roof typically stays clear for two to four years in Central Florida. Walls generally hold a year or more, less where irrigation sprays them.
Is it safe for plants and pets?
Yes, with the right process. Every job includes a full pre-soak of surrounding plants and beds before we start and a thorough post-soak rinse when we finish. Keep pets indoors while we are working and until surfaces have dried.
Will it damage paint, stucco or roof shingles?
No. Low pressure cannot strip granules from shingles, chip a stucco finish coat or force water behind siding — which are the four ways pressure washing damages a house. Soft washing is what shingle manufacturers specify, and it is the only method that keeps most roof warranties intact.
